چکیده

Scalability requirements for semantic stores lead to distributed hardwareindependent solutions to handle and analyze massive amounts of semantic data. We use a different approach by imitating the behaviour of swarm individuals to achieve this scalability. We have implemented our concept of a Self-organized Semantic Storage Service (S4) and present preliminary evaluation results in order to investigate to what extent the performance of a distributed and swarm-based storage system is dependent on its configuration.

A survey on self-organized semantic storage

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to show the potential of self-organized semantic storage services. The semantic web has provided a vision of how to build the applications of the future. A software component dedicated to the storage and retrieval of semantic information is an important but generic part of these applications. Apart from mere functionality, these storage components also hav...

Using Mobile Code for Semantic Interoperability in Distributed Agent Systems

This paper presents a framework based on mobile code for ensuring a semantically correct interoperation among loosely coupled agent systems in wide-area networks. Dynamic service lookup is supported by a distributed service registration and publication infrastructure, which offers a differentiation between service types and service providers, as well as between compatible and incompatible versi...

Introducing homophily to improve semantic service search in a self-adaptive system

Humans create efficient social structures in a self-organized way. People tend to join groups with other people with similar characteristics. This is call homophily. This paper proposes how homophily can be introduced in ServiceOriented Multiagent Systems (SOMAS) to create efficient self-organized structures.

Self-Organized Service Negotiation for Collaborative Decision Making

This paper proposes a self-organized service negotiation method for CDM in intelligent and automatic manners. It mainly includes three phases: semantic-based capacity evaluation for the CDM sponsor, trust computation of the CDM organization, and negotiation selection of the decision-making service provider (DMSP). In the first phase, the CDM sponsor produces the formal semantic description of t...

Service Virtualization Using a Non-von Neumann Parallel, Distributed, and Scalable Computing Model

— That the computing models of living organisms utilize sophisticated methods of information processing, was recognized by von Neumann who proposed the stored program control (SPC) computing model and the self-replicating cellular automata. Later Chris Langton created computer programs that demonstrated self-organization and discovery of patterns using evolutionary rules which led to the field ...
